Welcome
Welcome to the Meadow Orchard Project. This land behind Hornsey Health Centre has been designated for community use by the NHS and is being managed as a community garden, orchard and wildlife space by volunteers.
We look forward to welcoming you to this precious wild space for all to enjoy and share!
Discover
The site offers a peaceful and inspiring natural setting to simply enjoy being in nature, to meet people, to get involved in activities, learn new skills, get creative or have fun at an event.
Join us in helping this local wild space to thrive with lots of activities, events and celebrations to get involved with. Learn new skills, meet others and enjoy being in nature!
Wildlife
An ecological survey of the site was undertaken in May 2010 by London Wildlife Trust. We are protecting and enhancing the delicate wildlife features of this site of Grade 1 Importance for Nature Conservation. The undisturbed meadow grassland is a unique feature in an urban setting and a mosaic of five different habitats supports a rich biodiversity of wild plants and flowers, insects, spiders, trees, birds and mammals.
Site opening
Meadow Orchard is open on Saturdays from 12 – 4 pm for volunteering and visitors, plus other community events throughout the week.
